Banisteriopsis caapi, also known as caapi or yajé, is a jungle vine native to the Amazon rainforest which is commonly used for its MAO-inhibiting properties as the basis of ayahuasca. In addition to its hypnotic effect, caapi is used for its healing properties as a purgative, effectively cleansing the body of parasites and helping the digestive tract.
Black Caapi, also known as "Trueno", is considered one of the more purgative and physical caapi's.
