Although not considered to be a psychedelic by itself, Banisteriopsis Caapi has gained a reputation for it's healing properties, especially as the main ingredient of the visionary brew Ayahuasca.
Banisteriopsis caapi, also known as caapi or yaje, is a jungle vine native to the Amazon rainforest which is commonly used for its MAO-inhibiting properties as the basis of ayahuasca. In addition to its hypnotic effect, caapi is used for its healing properties as a purgative, effectively cleansing the body of parasites and helping the digestive tract.
Fresh shredded Red vine from the Napo region. Mature vines of 3-6 cm diameter and 15-30 cm long. This vine is called "Red" vine, because upon cutting the vine, the cross section immediately changes colour from light yellow to red. It is our most praized and popular, and potent vine.This vine is at least 8-10 years old. Before it's harvested, sacred tobacco smoke is blown over the vine and gifts of tobacco are left around the mother vine to show respect and to give thanks. The roots of the mother vine remain in the ground and with time fresh vine grows once again and the circle continues. These vines are harvested in the early morning when they are at their most potent.
