Banisteriopsis caapi, also known as caapi or yaje, is a jungle vine native to the Amazon rainforest which is commonly used for its MAO-inhibiting properties as the basis of ayahuasca. In addition to its hypnotic effect, caapi is used for its healing properties as a purgative, effectively cleansing the body of parasites and helping the digestive tract.
Fresh stock of our "Red" Ayahuasca vines. Mature vines of 3-6 cm diameter and 15-30 cm long. This vine is called "Red" vine, because upon cutting the vine, the cross section immediately changes colour from light yellow to red. It is our most praized and popular, and potent vine. This rare vine comes from the Achuar tribe. The chief of the tribe granted permission for the harvest and export. This vine is known for its healing powers and is locally only used by the curanderos or shaman himself, in specific healing ceremonies. Harvested June 2019.
