Growing Cannabis Outside
Growing Cannabis Outside - Beginner
Â
Growing cannabis outdoors can be a rewarding experience for the beginner grower, but it does require some knowledge and planning. Here are some tips for getting started:
- Choose the right location: Cannabis plants need plenty of sunlight to thrive, so it's important to choose a location that gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. The location should also have good drainage to prevent excess water from standing around the plants.
- Select the right strain: Different strains of cannabis have different growing requirements, so it's important to choose one that is well-suited to your climate and growing conditions. Some strains are more resistant to pests and diseases, while others are more resistant to extreme weather conditions.
- Prepare the soil: Cannabis plants prefer a well-draining soil with a pH between 6 and 7. To ensure that your plants have all the nutrients they need, you may want to amend the soil with compost or a balanced fertiliser.
- Plant your seeds or seedlings: When planting cannabis seeds, it's important to plant them no more then 2 seeds deep and to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Seedlings should be transplanted into larger pots or directly into the ground when they are a few inches tall, or when their roots start showing on the bottom of the pot.
- Monitor and care for your plants: Keep an eye on your plants and make sure they are getting enough water, sunlight, and nutrients. Pests and diseases can also be a problem, so be on the lookout for any signs of problems and take action if necessary.
By following these tips, you can successfully grow your own cannabis plants outdoors. Just be sure to follow all local laws and regulations regarding cannabis cultivation. Happy growing!
