Salvinorin A en salvinorin B are the principal compounds of salvia divinorum. Salvinorin A is currently the strongest isolated hallucinogenic substance known and the main compound of salvia divinorum.

Salvia has its own unique effect. It is a psychedelic and a dissociative. It’s not compareable with any other hallucinogenic substance, like magic mushrooms, cacti or LSD. You feel like you're escaping physical reality and may experience all kinds of strange thoughts and visions.

Some people find the dissociative state of salvia unpleasant. If this is your first time trying salvia, we strongly recommend taking it in a quiet, safe environment with a sober sitter to guide you through the trip.

Normally a trip lasts 5-10 minutes but it can last 20 minutes to 1 hour. Usually, there are after effects.

Usage

The traditional Mazatec indian method of consuming salvia is chewing and holding the leaves under the tongue for 15 - 20 minutes and then spitting it out. It's not the most efficient method and requires 8 to 20 leaves. The onset is slower than when it's smoked, at roughly 20 minutes.

The most efficient method is smoking about 1 gram of dried salvia leaves with a bong and holding it in your lungs for about 30 seconds. With this method, the onset is very quick: 30 - 180 seconds.

However, for each extract there's a different starting dose. Be careful and read the package well before deciding the dosage. The stronger doses can be experienced as unpleasant, and it's better to take less and gradually up the dose than taking too much at your first inhalation.
